Practical Notes for Nevada PRC Renewal

From the field: Practical considerations beyond the official requirements.
  • Your CE requirement depends on when you were licensed — look it up. Nevada doesn’t have a single CE hour number. Your requirement is 20, 15, 10, or 5 hours based on your initial licensure date within the 2025–2027 biennium. Check the table above against your license issue date before planning your CE.
  • Ethics hours are mandatory no matter what. Whether you owe 5 total hours or 20, 2 of them must be ethics. This requirement doesn’t scale down with the total. www.learnwell.org is specifically listed by the Board as an approved ethics CE source.
  • AARC CRCE = automatic RC hours. Any program with AARC CRCE approval counts automatically as directly related to respiratory care. For non-AARC-approved CE you want to count as RC-related, the Board makes that determination on a case-by-case basis.
  • $370 to reinstate — don’t let it lapse. The reinstatement fee is double the biennial renewal fee. Set a renewal calendar reminder and renew on time.
  • No personal checks — same rule as initial licensure. Cashier’s check, money order, or credit card only. The 2.5% credit card fee applies here too.
